Cattail Strategy: KinMakers

Preparing the Ground for Life-Affirming Investments

Our current systems are no longer fit to sustain life. Relational economies—the ways communities have survived through cultural practices, knowledge of the land, and mutual care—have faded, but never disappeared.

Today they are found in Indigenous lifeways, ancestral/family knowledge, and the enduring wisdom of place. Today, the relational economy is gaining power.

Systemic KinVesting: Preparing the Ground for a Great Wealth Transfer to Life

There is not enough absorption capacity. The streams of philanthropy and Impact Investing need living regenerative economies, community wealth system, productive climate resilience, and systems change initiatives, at scale.

Our challenge not a shortage of capital or promising ideas. It is the limited capacity of communities to absorb, coordinate, and steward complex investment over time.

Many of us have spent years building regenerative finance and community economic initiatives. Yet familiar patterns continue to emerge: coalitions lose momentum, shared governance becomes concentrated power, participation declines, and promising projects struggle to become durable institutions.

These are not only technical or financial problems.

They are signs that the relational and economic foundations beneath the work need strengthening. Find the critical path forward.

KinKitchen

We are women shaped by modern Western culture—often far from ancestral wisdom traditions, land-based practices, and the living rhythms that once taught us how to belong.

We gather in vibrant alive places to remember what our grandmothers once knew: how to listen to the land, nourish the body, and live in reciprocal relationship with the world around us.

Through seasonal food, sensory experience, communal practice, and the living intelligence of place, we begin to rediscover unexplored parts of ourselves—and the forgotten gift of relationship, belonging, and aliveness.
